Two ways to bet
On the Betstrike Sportsbook you can bet on an event before it starts (pre-match) or while it is happening (live, also called in-play). Both work the same way on your betslip — the main difference is timing and how the odds behave.
Pre-match betting
When: Before the event kicks off. Markets often open hours or days in advance.
Odds: More stable, giving you time to compare prices and plan your bet.
Best for: Researching matchups and placing bets ahead of time.
Live (In-Play) betting
When: While the event is in progress.
Odds: Update continuously to reflect what is happening in the match, so prices can change in seconds.
Suspensions: Markets may be briefly suspended during key moments (for example, a goal or a penalty) and then reopen with updated odds.
Best for: Reacting to how an event is unfolding.
Key information
Accepting odds changes: Because live odds move quickly, you may be asked to accept a new price before your bet is placed.

Timing matters: A market that is open pre-match may close once the event starts, and new live markets open in its place.
